The end of it.

"Great men are they who see that the spiritual is stronger than any material force, that thoughts rule the world."
--Ralph Waldo Emerson

The current political context of the Western world is lost in time. Yes, politicians come and go, but the terms have remained static; clinging to a man obsessed with the material world and who shunned the spiritual. For such a man, wealth and injustice within the free market system of his time are what drove him to try and reshape the world with his ideas. Reshape the world it did and sadly, not for the better. Of course the man is Karl Marx and his idea was communism. Communism seems to be a genuine force for equality and fairness, but at its heart communism is a cold, lost place with no way back.
It cut out spiritual matters and replaced God with state/party, because the economic philosophy could stand no rivals. So, communism rather than fixing these inequalities is what turned human worth upon itself, stripping humanity of its soul and replacing human value with the good of society.
After years of death brought about by famine, mistakes and murders communism and communistic thinking should be as far removed from the current society as possible. The horrors of Nazism has been condemned as amoral, destructive and having no place is modern political and cultural thought.
Yet, communism lives on and not only takes hold in places with strict communist leadership, but in Western culture as well.

It is the purpose of this blog to write a new construct with which to address the current culture. The title, "Class Over" refers to the need to move on past such a terrible and deadly idea.
It is time to move past using Marxist ideology. No more class envy, no more 'us vs. them', no more rich or poor. We have fought many -isms, now is the time to fight classism, which is confronting Marxist thought.

I had a friend from France who was half-Polish, half-French. Her mother married a Polish freedom fighter who had to flee from communist oppression in Poland. Amazingly, the Polish freedom fighter's wife's family was almost entirely in the communist party and it lead to endless debates about the merits of this and that. Finally, hearing enough from his in-laws he challenged them to take a trip to Poland to witness communism firsthand. He said, "If you are satisfied with communism after visiting the 'workers paradise of Poland' I will never say another word bad about communism, but if you find it to be less than you expect, then you never say another word to me."
When the trip was finish there was never any talk of communism again and the in-laws all left the communist party.

Let us not repeat the same disaster. Let us rise up and beat down any theories that spring forth from communism and its founder, Karl Marx.
As a Russian historian and a person who fell in love with the Russians, I feel pain and remorse for the system that ravaged their country...and you know what? It's just the same mantra that is rambled on today in Europe and North America. Envy your neighbor, no more.

The essence of Class Over is to explore the various crimes of communism, faults of Marx and see how these ideas thrive in modern Western politics despite mountains of reasons and corpses not to. I know not where this journey to find new thoughts or find lost ways to expressing and classifying how the world works, but it has started and there can be no going back. Ignorance is blissfully lost, knowledge and wisdom are what we seek and aspire to.

Please feel free to debate or add anything to the discussion. Thanks~!
Class Over.
